Eventually a headstone will succumb to the elements and need a little TLC. We are the experts when it comes to memorial renovation and cleaning headstones, from re-carving inscriptions and motifs to re-fixing loose kerbs and lead letters, we provide a comprehensive service in Essex.
With age, the stones surface corrodes and the lead or gold letters become loose and worn. In this case we may need to inspect the memorial and inform you of your options, a good quality photo showing the letters is a great help.
On completion you will receive a before and after photo and in most cases the headstone can be cleaned on site, so the memorial won’t need to be removed.
An example of one of our recent renovations. This gravestone at Chadwell Heath Cemetery is over 60 years old.
We cleaned the headstone and re carved the fine details. Once done, we repaired the lead lettering, some of which had fallen out.
We would always recommend using glass chippings for the interior of gravestones as they have a permanent colour and will last the life of the memorial. View chippings and stones
